2026 – 2027 Meeting Programs

​All programs will be held at Our Lady of Victory Parish Center, Centerville, MA, unless otherwise noted.

​ September 14, 2026: 
"Resilient Plants in a Changing Climate"
Trevor Smith, Director of Desgin and Education, of Weston Nurseries and ReEarth Studio will speak on the topic of current environmental interest.

October 5, 2026:
"Preserving Cape Cod's Ponds"
Julie Hambrook Berkman, Ph.D. is the Pond and Cyanobacteria Program Manager for the Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC).  In her role at APCC she is responsible for coordinating and managing APCC's two pond programs:  the Pond Monitoring program and the Cyanobacteria Monitoring Program.  Julie engages with the many interested citizens and organizations who care about Cape Cod's 890 ponds as APCC works toward doing a better job of preserving pond water quality for the benefit of all.

​November 16, 2026:
"Create Your Own Thanksgiving Table Design"
Susan Dewey and Donna Rumpf will show members how to create an easy Thanksgiving table design.  The club will provide flowers, foliages, oasis foam and design containers.  Members will be asked to bring their own evergreens, additional foliage, etc.

December 7, 2026
"Mugs, Meeting and Jingle-Mingle Luncheon"
Come join this holiday "trifecta" event as we complete our Meals on Wheels mugs, wrap up business for the year and have some holiday fun with a catered luncheon!  Members are reminded to come with oasis-filled mugs and greens from their yards.  Decorations and flowers will be provided.  Meeting location:  Barnstable Adult Community Center, Rt 28, Hyannis at 12:00 noon.

​February 1, 2027
“Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder"
In an "Art in Bloom" style event, two club members will demonstrate their different traditional and creative design styles interpreting the same work of art.

March 1, 2027
“Planting Designs for a Layered Garden”
We welcome Steve Flack, Cape Cod Master Gardener, back to discuss effective methods for designing and maintaining our gardens through all four seasons.

April 12, 2027: 
“Chameleon Containers!”
Deborah Trickett, owner of The Captured Garden, is an award-winning container garden designer whose work has been featured in The Boston Globe, Garden Gate magazine, New England Home magazine and on the TV show New England Dream Home. She is a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist and will be creating several planters using a combination of foliage and flowering plants.  The containers will be auctioned off at the end of the program.

May 3, 2027
“Fireflies Alight”.
Blake Dinius, entomologist with the Plymouth County Extension Service, will share tips on how to attract and protect fireflies in our gardens.
