September 8, 2025: "Herbal Bounty" Steve Flack of the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod will give an illustrated talk on the History and Design of Herb Gardens with tips on selection and cultivation of herbs for the Cape home. Steve has an extensive garden in Yarmouth Port with over 50 varieties of herbs.
October 6, 2025: "Oasis Free Floral Design" Presented by our very own design team of Karen Pinard and Donna Rumpf, who will demonstrate several different options for floral design without the use of that dreaded Oasis foam! Beautiful designs will be shared with club members.
November 10, 2025: "This Land is our Land" Janet Milkman, Executive Director of the Barnstable Land Trust, will give us an overview of the lands protected by the trust, the programs offered and the ways we can enjoy Barnstable’s open space treasures.
December 1, 2025 "Coastal Christmas Workshops" If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, this pre-Coastal Christmas program will get you going! During this hands-on interactive special meeting, help cut and wire greens for wreaths with experienced wreath designer, Connie Dee; wire Christmas evergreen decorative balls and enjoy some cheer! We will also be training hostesses, assisting our sales team; giving directions to cookie bakers and more! Please come lend a hand to OGC’s major fundraising effort! February 2, 2026 “Birds, Bees and Butterflies in Your Backyard" Mark Faherty, science coordinator at Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, who writes the weekly Bird Report and is also a commentator on WCAI radio, will share the joys and know-how of creating your own lively backyard oasis.
March 2, 2026 “Create Your Own Spring Time Pot-et-Fleur” Our own Susan Dewey, designer extraordinaire, will present this fun, hands-on program. Potted plants, a spring-blooming bulb and cut flowers will be provided. Bring in a sturdy, low, 10-inch diameter container filled with planting soil and expect to be amazed with what you take home!
April 13, 2026: “Creating Inspired Moments in Your Garden” Julie Esteves, owner and principal designer of Julia Garden Design Ltd., will showcase her design process from site analysis through final design, resulting in glorious gardens which respect the ecology of place with a diversity of plant communities. May 4, 2026 “Abiding Beauty in Botanical Arts Design”. Nationally recognized artisan, Sarah Boynton, who has won numerous awards at prestigious regional and national shows for her superb botanical art creations (her jewelry designs made of all natural materials are true show-stoppers!!) will present a very special program
